I’ve tried to create a personal website/blog too many times in my life. I’ve definitely tried most static site generators and even rolled out my own site generator using bash scripts to merge together HTML pages. Invariably what has happened each time is that I start with a site, and then as I start adding more features to it, it starts to get complicated and I spend most of the time building / updating the site instead of writing. That’s when I lose interest. So, one way to design the next site could be to make it so that it has zero UI. I just record my notes, and posts get minimally formatted and just get posted on the site.

This wont’ be the same as ‘writing’ as a way to ’think’ . .. but the main goal is to be able to quickly record ideas and get back to them later if they’re interesting.
